The southern half with Philipsburg as it's capitol is a member island of the
Netherlands Antilles and part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. On the Dutch side - Sint Maarten - you can participate in lot's of water sport activities such as snorkeling and
jet skiing as well as entertainment and nightlife, mainly in the Simpson Bay and Maho area.
The northern half of the island is the French side, St. Martin with it's capitol Marigot.
